SO Recycle supports Romsey 5 Mile Run

This year the Romsey 5 Mile Run celebrated its 10th anniversary at the famous Broadlands Estate, which was once the home of The Earl Mountbatten of Burma.

This popular event is always increasing in demand, selling out this year in less than 3 weeks.

The course included 3 laps of the picturesque estate; making it one of the flattest 5 mile races in the county; attracting athletes from all over who were looking to beat their personal best.

One of the event organisers, Kelly, highlighted that this was the event’s most successful year, having 1028 finishers and 40 children aged 4 – 12 taking part in the fun run.

SO Recycle have been actively looking for community events and projects to support in a bid to raise the profile of effective recycling and combat the nationwide recycling crisis.

We reached out to Challenging Events about the Romsey 5 mile run, as our offices are based here in Romsey and we wanted to kick start our community support efforts in our own town.

We donated our waste management services to the event on January 27th and are pleased to say that as a result we will now be looking after the waste management at the Winchester 10km Road Race in February.

Event organiser Kelly commented “We are super grateful for your help, we are becoming more and more conscious about our impact on the environment and are always looking for ways to reduce the waste produced by the events.”

SO Recycle have set up a ‘Community Fund’ to support local community projects, events, people and charitable organisations.

SO, if you need our support, then please get in touch with our Marketing Manager; Danielle at DBarry@sorecycle.co.uk, we’d love to hear from you.
